Spotlight on: The USO January 12 - 22
From it‘s establishment during the big band era in the early 40‘s, through the years of change in the 60‘s and up until the present, the USO (United Service Organizations) brought America and the boys (and girls) overseas entertainment, hope and a “home away from home” during the most challenging of times. Celebrities offered their services often at great risk to themselves. Live performances, known as Camp Shows, attracted movie stars, comedians, musicians, singers and dancers, including Bob Hope, Danny Kaye, The Andrew Sisters, Frank Sinatra, Marilyn Monroe, Robin Williams and Willie Nelson.
